La Fiesta Thanksgiving Week Calendar!

What you are seeing is not an illusion! πŸ‘† The famed El Faro Inclinado (the Leaning Lighthouse) has been leaning since the late 60's. It's one of Puerto Morelos' many landmarks. We'll see it on our bike tour.

Family, here is the official schedule for our Thanksgiving week in Puerto Morelos!! We are all staying at The Fives Oceanfront. Here's a link to our hotel. The hotel is roughly 25 minutes away from the airport.

Let's have some fun. Or as the Maya would say, Nya b’a’n tu’n t-xi tyec’in t-xew can, ku’n b’e’x ck’ayjil twi’ tk’ob’a. Actually, that translates to "It is not good to point at a rainbow or your finger will rot." but it's pretty darn close!

Speaking of finger, please look for the πŸ‘ˆ or πŸ‘‰emoji! These are important things that you need to know about. Also, please take a look at the "dos and dont's" listed at the very bottom of this page. These are strictly suggestions to keep us safe and sound.

OK, LET'S PARTY!!

Monday, November 20 (Arrival πŸ˜‚)

We all arrive in Cancun. Here are our arrival times!

Antle/Lopez/Galarza 2:30PM
Travis and Stasha 5:00PM
Shantee, Diana and crew 10:20PM

We all have transportation from the airport to the hotel (and vice versa going back home). Shantee, Diane and crew, because the hotel's bus only fits 6, we will find you another car to get the other 2 to the hotel. The Cancun airport is nice, but the hotel is much nicer.

Tuesday, November 21 (First Free Day and Xoximilco Boat Dinner Ride)

AM is free. Meaning we have nothing planned. Meet me at the beach for our first beer & mezcal?

However, we meet at πŸ‘‰ 6:00PM in the hotel lobby to catch the ride to our Xoximilco boat adventure. There we will be eating, drinking, dancing and..... drinking 😈. Don't worry about getting seasick, this boat floats on still water.

πŸ‘‰You will need bug spray and/or long sleeves or pants. Mosquitos love that tourist blood!

πŸ‘‰ Bring small bills to tip your boat captain. πŸ‘ˆ

Wednesday, November 22 (Bike Ride and Zim's Birthday!!)

I have reserved some bikes for us from Green Bikes Puerto Morelos. We'll do a little bike ride around Puerto Morelos. Nothing too fancy. It's all flat terrain so if you haven't done your push-ups, no problem. We'll ride through the small city, visiting the leaning lighthouse and see some beach!

We meet at πŸ‘‰ 9:00AM. I estimate the ride to be about 2-3 hours.

πŸ‘‰The cost is $12.00 per bike and can be paid when the company drops off the bikes! These are beach cruiser style bikes and are super easy to ride.

And of course, it's Zim's birthday! Plans have not yet been decided on what we are all doing but I'm sure it will be AMAZING. Info TBA!

Thursday, November 23 (Private Cenote and Thanksgiving Lunch)

For Thanksgiving, we've rented our very own PRIVATE CENOTE at Cenote Elvira (check out this video) and the best part is that IT WILL BE CATERED! After swimming in the cenote for a few hours, lunch will be served at πŸ‘‰ 1:00PM. Pibil tacos, chicken fajitas, poblano peppers, prickly pear Mexican salads and MORE! Yes, there will be drinks and another bottle of mezcal shall be passed around!

Be ready to leave the hotel to Cenote Elvira at 9:30AM πŸ‘ˆLate comers will have to wash the dishes.

πŸ‘‰ Oh, bring your small pesos, we them need to tip our servers and drivers.

We only have the cenote until 4:00PM. Then it's back to the hotel.

Our PM is free. Meaning there is nothing planned for the rest of the evening. Go have fun!!

Friday, November 24 (Snorkeling and Fuego)

Our adventure is almost over?? 😟Wait we still have two days of fun left.

10:00 AM, we have a snorkeling date with Ruben. It's a 15-minute walk to Ruben's from our hotel but Ruben wants us there a little early so we will be leaving at 9:00 AM.πŸ‘ˆ Here's a link to Ruben's website. We will take 2 boats. Water depths will be from 5 to 15 feet. EVERYONE wears a life vest, and each group will have their own guide! There will be changing rooms, showers and bathrooms.

πŸ‘‰ Bring pesos to tip! The tour lasts roughly 2 hours.

After the snorkeling tour, we'll grab some lunch (and more beer and mezcal!!) and head back to the hotel to rest because later that night............. Xplore Fuego!!

Our transportation will pick up at our hotel at 4:00 PM πŸ‘ˆ. No lates please! Xplore Fuego is INSANE!! There will be so many awesome things to choose to do. Zip-lines, underground rafts, underground rivers and more! Check out the website!

πŸ‘‰ Please bring water shoes, swimwear and I recommend rash guards. Oh, they call it Xplore Fuego because at night the park is lit up with fire.

There is a BBQ dinner-buffet (with vegetarian options) at the park that is included. We will also have lockers to change in. Bring an extra set of clothes to change into after the activities.

We'll be picked up 10:00PM and transported back to the hotel. πŸ‘‰Don't forget to tip our driver!

Snorkeling

And Xplore Fuego!!!

Saturday, November 25 (Free Day)

Ugh! Last day on our vacation. but it's a free day meaning we don't have any activities planned!

Sit at the beach, drink beer and mezcal (yeah, you know what I'll be doing!) shop, eat, jump in the pool, stare at the sky, pack?? It's all you baby!
